Meibomian gland dysfunction: oral tetracyclines
Age from 12 years onwards
Initial dose: oxytetracycline 500mg twice a day
Oxytetracycline 250mg tablets
Take two tablets twice a day for 4 weeks.
Supply 112 tablets.
Initial dose: doxycycline 100mg once a day
Doxycycline 50mg capsules
Take two capsules once a day for 4 weeks.
Supply 56 capsules.
Initial dose: lymecycline 408mg once a day
Lymecycline 408mg capsules
Take one capsule once a day for 4 weeks.
Supply 28 capsules.
Initial dose: tetracycline 500mg twice a day
Tetracycline 250mg tablets
Take two tablets twice a day for 4 weeks.
Supply 112 tablets.
Maintenance dose: oxytetracycline 250mg twice a day
Oxytetracycline 250mg tablets
Take one tablet twice a day for 8 weeks.
