Search strategy
Further information on the CKS literature searching policy is available in the 'About' section of the CKS website.
Scope of search
A full literature search was not requested/required as this CKS topic is primarily based on the Resuscitation council guidelines 2005 [Resuscitation Council, 2005]. Additional searches were requested for further evidence in the following areas:
- Management of out of hospital cardiac arrest
- What drugs should be used
Search dates
Guideline, Medline searches January 2000 – October 2008
Key search terms
Various combinations of searches were carried out. The terms listed below are the core search terms that were used for Medline and these were adapted for other databases. Further details are available on request.
- exp Heart Arrest/, cardiac arrest.tw, exp Death, Sudden, Cardiac/
