Cardiac arrest - out of hospital care - Management
Which scenario?
- Scenario: Basic life support (adult): covers basic life support for an adult, performed by a single rescuer with no equipment available, following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
- Scenario: Advanced life support (adult): covers advanced life support for an adult, performed by primary healthcare professionals trained in ALS techniques, with appropriate equipment available (for example in a primary healthcare centre or GP's surgery), following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
- The instructions apply primarily to manual defibrillators. Modification will be necessary if an automated external defibrillator is used.
