Cellulitis - acute - How up-to-date is this topic?
Changes

Version 1.1, revision planned in 2012.

Last revised in September 2008

November 2008 — minor update. Co-amoxiclav added as an antibiotic option for treatment of mild facial cellulitis that does not require admission, in line with Health Protection Agency (HPA) recommendations [HPA and Association of Medical Microbiologists, 2008]. Issued in January 2009.

July to September 2008 — converted from PRODIGY guidance to CKS topic structure. The evidence-base has been reviewed in detail, and recommendations are more clearly justified and transparently linked to the supporting evidence.

Recommendations and prescriptions on recurrent cellulitis have been removed, as they are now considered out of scope. Other than this, there have been no major changes to the recommendations.
