Chest infections - adult - Management
Alternative first-line antibiotic: doxycycline or macrolide
Age from 12 years onwards
Doxycycline capsules: 100mg once a day
Doxycycline 100mg capsules
Take TWO capsules now and then take ONE capsule once a day for the next 4 days.
Supply 6 capsules.
Clarithromycin tablets: 250mg twice a day
Clarithromycin 250mg tablets
Take one tablet twice a day for 5 days.
Supply 10 tablets.
