Immunizations - childhood vaccination programme - Management
What other vaccinations might the child require?
- Healthy children will not usually require additional vaccinations other than those provided by the Childhood Immunization Programme. However, give additional vaccinations if the child:
- Has comorbidities which make them susceptible to certain preventable diseases (e.g. pneumococcal disease, influenza).
- Is, or has been, exposed to an environment where infection with a preventable disease is more likely (e.g. tuberculosis, hepatitis B).
- Is going to travel to an area outside the UK which is endemic with a preventable disease (e.g. hepatitis A, typhoid, and yellow fever).
