What are the adverse effects of cholera vaccine?

  • Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhoea, nausea) are the most commonly reported symptoms occurring at a frequency of 0.1–1%.
  • Serious adverse events, (a flu-like syndrome, rash, arthralgia, and paraesthesia) are rare, occurring in fewer than one per 10,000 doses distributed.
