When is hepatitis B vaccine contraindicated?
- Do not give hepatitis B vaccine if the person:
- Has a current severe febrile illness.
- Has had a confirmed anaphylactic reaction to a previous dose of hepatitis B vaccine.
- Has had a confirmed anaphylactic reaction to a component of hepatitis B vaccine:
- Engerix B® contains trace amounts of thiomersal.
