What types of poliomyelitis vaccines are available?

  • In September 2004, inactivated polio vaccines replaced the live oral polio vaccine in the UK.
  • The inactivated vaccine is available as a single component vaccine or as part of a combined product.

  • The polio vaccine is normally given as part of a combined product:

    • Infanrix-IPV® (DTaP/IPV or dTaP/IPV)
    • Repevax® (dTaP/IPV)
