Goals

  • To recognize Lyme disease
  • To make appropriate use of investigations
  • To treat people with erythema migrans (with a history of a tick bite or possible exposure to ticks) appropriately in primary care
  • To refer the person appropriately to a specialist
  • To provide appropriate advice to people who have been bitten by a tick
  • To provide appropriate advice for the prevention of tick bites
