Obesity - Management
Audit criteria

  • Possible audit measures for drug treatment include:
    • The percentage of people with a body mass index (BMI) of at least 35 kg/m2 who have been considered for treatment with anti-obesity drugs.
    • The percentage of people with a BMI of at least 27 kg/m2 plus significant comorbidity who have been considered for treatment with anti-obesity drugs.
    • The percentage of people taking orlistat who have lost at least 5% of their initial body weight after 3 months of treatment.
    • The percentage of people taking sibutramine who have lost at least 2 kg after 1 month of treatment.
    • The percentage of people taking sibutramine who have lost at least 5% of their initial body weight after 3 months of treatment.
    • The percentage of people taking sibutramine who have had their blood pressure monitored:
      • Every 2 weeks for the first 3 months of treatment.
      • Every month for the next 3 months of treatment.
      • Every 3 months thereafter for the duration of treatment.
