Palliative cancer care - pain - Management
Weak opioid: codeine or dihydrocodeine
Age from 16 years onwards
Codeine tablets: 30-60mg four times a day and when required
Codeine 30mg tablets
Take one to two tablets four times a day and when required (up to every four hours) for pain relief. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Supply 112 tablets.
Dihydrocodeine tablets: 30mg every 4 hours
Dihydrocodeine 30mg tablets
Take one tablet every four hours (six times a day). Do not exceed the stated dose.
Supply 168 tablets.
Dihydrocodeine m/r tablets: 60mg twice a day
Dihydrocodeine 60mg modified-release tablets
Take one tablet twice a day.
Supply 56 tablets.
Dihydrocodeine m/r tablets: 90mg twice a day
Dihydrocodeine 90mg modified-release tablets
Take one tablet twice a day.
Supply 56 tablets.
Dihydrocodeine m/r tablets: 120mg twice a day
Dihydrocodeine 120mg modified-release tablets
Take one tablet twice a day.
Supply 56 tablets.
