Goals

  • Early recognition of the condition
  • Facilitating an accurate diagnosis (by prompt referral to a specialist)
  • Appropriate treatment in primary care settings
  • Appropriate referral to secondary care or other specialist services
  • Avoidance of harm arising from the use of drugs which may worsen parkinsonism or interact with anti-parkinsonian drugs
  • Providing appropriate support and advice to people with Parkinson's disease and their families or carers
