Goals
- Early recognition of the condition
- Facilitating an accurate diagnosis (by prompt referral to a specialist)
- Appropriate treatment in primary care settings
- Appropriate referral to secondary care or other specialist services
- Avoidance of harm arising from the use of drugs which may worsen parkinsonism or interact with anti-parkinsonian drugs
- Providing appropriate support and advice to people with Parkinson's disease and their families or carers
