Plantar fasciitis - Goals and outcome measures
Goals

  • Confirm diagnosis of plantar fasciitis through history and examination
  • Give self-care advice on appropriate footwear, stretching exercises, analgesia, and lifestyle changes where appropriate
  • Treat with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and/or intramuscular corticosteroids in selected people
  • Refer people who do not adequately respond to primary care interventions to a podiatrist, physiotherapist, or orthopaedic surgeon
