Polycystic ovary syndrome - Goals and outcome measures
Goals
- To recognize polycystic ovary syndrome in its early stages
- To manage the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (infertility, hirsutism, and acne) in primary care
- To modify risk factors that may lead to:
- Glucose intolerance or diabetes
- Endometrial hyperplasia and cancer
- Cardiovascular disease
- To appropriately refer people to secondary care or other specialist services
- To provide appropriate advice to people with polycystic ovary syndrome
