Scabies - Making a diagnosis
How do I know my patient has scabies?
- The diagnosis of scabies is usually made from the history and examination of the affected individual, as well as from the history of the family and close contacts [Chosidow, 2006]. Misdiagnosis is common because of its similarity to other pruritic skin disorders.
