Antibiotics for upper UTI (pyelonephritis)

Age from 3 to 11 months
Cefalexin suspension: 12.5mg/kg twice a day
Cefalexin 125mg/5ml oral suspension
*WEIGHT REQUIRED* Take 12.5mg per kg bodyweight TWICE a day for 7 days.
Supply 100 ml.
Age: from 3 months to 11 months

Patient information: An oral syringe may be supplied for accurate dosing and ease of administration. Children should be encouraged to pass urine regularly - do not 'hang on' if needing to go to the toilet.
Co-amoxiclav s/f susp: 0.5ml/kg three times a day
Co-amoxiclav 125mg/31mg/5ml oral suspension sugar free
*WEIGHT REQUIRED* Take 0.5ml per kg bodyweight THREE times a day for 7 days.
Supply 100 ml.
