Urticaria - Making a diagnosis
How do I know my patient has it?
- A detailed history and examination should be carried out in all people with urticaria, and this is usually sufficient to make the diagnosis [Kozel et al, 2003].
- Investigations are rarely needed, but may be considered to help identify the underlying cause.
